Report to the Community
Reflecting on
2023–2025

It is impossible to share the story of Moses Taylor Foundation’s recent work without acknowledging the significant challenges our nonprofit partners—and the communities they serve—continue to face every day.
Public funding is shrinking, community needs are growing, and uncertainty continues to be the one thing we can count on. And yet, we all move forward doing the best we can in the face of clear and persistent adversity. As the Foundation grapples with our role in the current environment and how best to support our partners, we remain unwavering in our mission to improve the health of people in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
In times like these, staying focused is more important than ever. It was fortuitous timing, then, that from late 2023 through early 2024, the Foundation undertook a comprehensive strategic refresh process to sharpen its focus. We emerged with a renewed commitment to much of the work that has defined the Foundation since its inception. That commitment is reflected in our Focus Areas—Health Care Access and Quality, Older Adult Health, School-Based Health, and Nonprofit Effectiveness—which provide clarity in specifics while remaining steadfast in purpose.
This biennial report, which covers the period from July 2023 through June 2025, is guided by these four Focus Areas. Within each, we outline our goals, strategies, learnings, and future plans. Most importantly, we share highlights from some of our incredible partners who make it all possible.
With deep appreciation for their trust, innovation, and resilience, we thank these organizations and all of the nonprofits in our region for remaining dedicated, even in the face of adversity.
Together, we remain steadfast in improving the health of people in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
